In the morning, we will depart from Dong Hoi hotel/train station heading South towards Hue city. Not like most of the DMZ tour starting from Hue city, DMZ tour from Dong Hoi will first stop at Vinh Moc tunnel on the South bound way to Hue. At Vinh Moc tunnel, you will have ample time to watch a documentary (if requested), take a look at the museum and then go underground to experience the village underneath with family rooms, maternity room, meeting room, air vent, exits to the sea, ...
After Vinh Moc tunnel, we continue onto Hien Luong bridge (aka DMZ bridge, Freedom bridge) crossing Ben Hai rive right at 17th parallel. Here you will see frontline flagpole, border police memorial, 17th parallel museum and walk across the bridge to see the National Aspiration for Reunification on the southern bank of the Ben Hai river.
Hopping on car, we keep going to Doc Mieu firebase which is considered the magical eye of the Mc Namara line just 5 miles South of the DMZ. We will also see Gio Linh military cemetery where more 3.000 NVA buried.

Keep southbound on Highway 1 to Dong Ha city to visit Mine Action Visitor Center (if not Saturday, Sunday) - a display of Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) found and collected around the DMZ.
Lunch break in Dong Ha city. Take you time to discover the gastronomical delight of Quang Tri province.
After lunch, we continue the tour to Rockpile - a US Marine lookout just besides the Highway 9 to Laos. Rockpile significance is to look for enemy infiltration from the DMZ to South Vietnam.

Keep going to the west along Highway 9 towards Laos, we will stop at Dakrong bridge - a starting point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail leading to the famed Ashau valley and the Hamburger Hill.
Not finish yet, your adventure to the West will stop at another famous site - Khe Sanh Combat Base where holds the longest single battle of the Vietnam war fought in 1968 during the Tet Offensive.
Drive all the back to Dong Ha along Highway 9 with some background music of the Vienam war for you to appreciate more the beautiful landscapes of the DMZ area with acacia forest, tapioca and rubber plantation, rugged hills and mountains with distant stilt house of the Bru ethnic people. We can stop at a local Bru market to see the local products sold by the locals (avocado, jack fruit, bamboo shoot, ...) Say goodbye to your guide in Dong Ha and our driver will take you to your accommodation in Hue city. Tour ends.
