Dong Ha Vinh Moc tunnel Hoi An
In the morning you will be picked up at train station, your hotel (Saigon Dong Ha, Muong Thanh Quang Tri, Golden hotel, ...) heading North to Doc Mieu firebase - a strong point of Mc Namara line south of the DMZ to block the infiltration from North Vietnam. You will also visit the Gio Linh cemetery nearby where thousands of NVA buried. Keep going North to Hien Luong bridge and V-Checkpoint Charlie. You will stroll across Ben Hai river right in the middle of 17th parallel into North Vietnam to have a look at museum and United Nations building during 1954-1964 period. Then you will continue to the Northeast towards the coast to visit Vinh Moc tunnel - one of the testament of Vietnamese perseverance during hard time of US bombing operations. The tunnel of Vinh Moc overlooks the Gulf of Tonkin and give supplies for Con Co island - a military outpost for North Vietnam. Take the coastal road along the East Vietnam Sea back to Dong Ha saying goodbye to guide. En route photo stops to include Cua Tung beach, Cua Viet beach. Bonus: Mine Action Visitor Center if on request. Drive all the way to hotel in Hoi An. En route stops: Long Hung church and Highway of Horror famed for 1972 Easter Offensive. Photo stops at Lang Co beach, Hai Van pass, Marble mountain if time permits.
