Hue – DMZ – Phong Nha

8:30 pickup from your hotel in Hue heading North to Phong Nha town, Son Trach, Bo Trach, Quang Binh province. En route stops shall be:

- La Vang cathedral - Our Lady of La Vang (a pilgrimage site for the Catholic in Vietnam. The old church was destroyed during Easter Offensive 1972)

- Quang Tri citadel (well known for the second battle of Quang Tri 81 days of fighting from June 28 to September 16)

- Primary School of Bo De - a testimony to the fierceness of the fighting in blistering summer of 1972 Second Battle of Quang Tri while the ARVN tried to recapture the city of Quang Tri then under NVA control

- Mine Action Visitor Center (a museum-like display of war relics collected around DMZ area. This place might be closed on weekends)

- Highway 9 National Cemetery (where more than 10.000 NVA and VC Rest In Peace, most of them died along Highway 9 in Vietnam and Laos, many of them died in operation Lam Son 719). We will exchange Highway 9 cemetery for Truong Son national cemetery depending on our itinerary and timing.

- Lunch break in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province (upon request). It's time to explore local specialty.

- DMZ Freedom bridge crossing Ben Hai river at 17th parallel with a visit to Museum of 17th Parallel and Unification Will. You will see UN Peacekeeping Building and walk across the demarcation line from North to South, take a look at the memorial of National Desire for Unification.

- Vinh Moc tunnel (a refuge for the villagers in Vinh Linh district of Quang Tri province during the US bombing operation Rolling Thunder from 1967 to 1972)

- Drive all the way to Phong Nha
