Day 1: Ninh Binh to Ha Tinh
On this day, you'll travel from Ninh Binh (Trang An, Tam Coc or Ninh Binh city) southwards to Ha Tinh city of Ha Tinh province. You'll pass by Thanh Hoa city - home to Le Dynasty and the famous founder Le Loi. Thanh Hoa is also well known for Ho Dynasty's UNESCO site Ho Citadel. Keep going towards the South, we'll have lunch in Vinh city, Nghe An province - home to the country's father Uncle Ho or Ho Chi Minh. After lunch, you can have a stroll on Ho Chi Minh square (if time permits) to appreciate Ho Chi Minh's importance in his hometown. After this, we will go to Lotus village or Ho Chi Minh birthplace to visit Vietnam's founding father. Continue our trip with a short visit to Dong Loc T-junction to understand the sacrifices of 10 young girls who served as logistics volunteers on Ho Chi Minh trail help maintaining the supply lines from North to South during the Vietnam war.
Upon request and interest: we can have a meeting with a Vietnamese lady guerrila who captured an American pilot in 1965. Her famous photo is displayed in many museums in Vietnam and on stamps.
Our first day will end at Ha Tinh city of the same name province Ha Tinh. Overnight in Ha Tinh city. Recommended hotel: Vinpearl Hotel Ha Tinh, Binh Minh Hotel, BMC Plaza Hotel, Eagle Hotel.
Day 2: Ha Tinh to Hue
Today you'll travel from Ha Tinh city of Ha Tinh province into the DMZ area of our expertise. Coffee break at Ba Don town of Quang Binh province after crossing Gianh river - the physical border between Northern lord Trinh and Southern Lord Nguyen during the civil war time of Revival Le Dynasty. We will take a new North-South expressway to make it in time for Phong Nha cave - one of the most famous cave in Vietnam. Lunch break in Phong Nha town of Quang Binh province. Our second stop for the day is DMZ freedom bridge aka Hien Luong bridge crossing Ben Hai river at 17th parallel border between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. Our last stop for the day is Vinh Moc tunnel which was used by local villagers in Vinh Linh district of Quang Tri province to take refuge against constant bombing of Rolling Thunder operation after The Gulf of Tonkin incident, we continue drive along highway 1A of Quang Tri province which is named after late party chief Le Duan - a son of Quang Tri motherland towards the South into Thua Thien Hue province. Several stops on the way upon your request and if time permits (Mine Action Visitor Center, Quang Tri citadel, La Vang cathedral). Arrive your hotel in Hue city around 5 p.m. Tour ends.
